OUR PEDAL POMISE
WITH our unique Glide Method COACHING and small class sizes, 90% of children WITH all abilities who attend OUR classES learn to confidently pedal without stabilisers IN ONE SINGLE, 2 HOUR CLASS.
We believe that with encouragement, confidence building and an environment of a safety and positive reinforcement, children of all abilities will become confident, happy, stabiliser free riders.
We offer free follow-up classes to those children who attend and participate in their first lesson but do not manage to get pedalling.
Our Commitment to Your Child’s Cycling Success
We promise that every child will learn to cycle independently. By the end of the course, your child will be able to start pedaling on their own, ride in control around the venue, and come to a safe stop using the brakes.
How Our Guarantee Works
When you enroll your child in our course, they’ll attend 1, two-hour class. Most children achieve independent cycling within this class, but if they need more time, we provide additional classes at no extra cost until they’re confidently riding on their own.
The additional classes are offered free of charge where we follow on from where the child left off . Nearly all children are cycling confidently within 1-2 classes, but if your child needs even more, we’ll continue to provide extra sessions at no additional cost—until they’re riding independently. You only pay once for the initial class.
If your child requires a follow up class a coach will provide you with a voucher code to use in the checkout stage of booking where you can book onto any class. Glide Bike Classes LTD retains the right to change your booking at its discretion.
Our guarantee is what we provide to support your child’s success, but to fulfill it we also need a few things from you! here’s a quick summary...
Your Child Must Attend the Sessions in Full
If your child misses any part of the scheduled class—amounting to more than 15 minutes in total—and hasn’t achieved independent cycling by the end of the class, we won’t be able to offer additional sessions for free, as we would if they had attended the full classs.
Course Age Requirement: 4 - 12+ Years
Our course is designed for children aged 4 and up. To qualify for our guarantee, your child must be at least 4 years old by the date of the first session.
If a child is enrolled before turning 4, we’ll do our best to teach them to cycle; however, if they don’t master it within the initial classs, we won’t be able to offer additional sessions free of charge as we would if they had been 4 at the course start. Since we offer courses year-round, please consider waiting for a later session if your child’s fourth birthday falls shortly after a course start date.
Parents and carers attendance at the class
At the beginning of the first session of the course there is a short introduction where the aims of the course are described and talk about how the class is run and what to expect. Parents and carers are welcome to stay for this introduction.
During the class and depending on the progess of each child, we may ask the parent or carer to politely leave the space for a specific amount of time in order for the coach to have a better learning environment.
Our experience shows that when the parents and carers aren't there, the children are less distracted and they encourage and learn from each other more readily.
Your Child Must Be Willing to Participate
If your child isn’t ready to stay on their own for an activity like this, we recommend waiting to enroll them. We cannot offer refunds or rescheduling if a child refuses to stay without their parent or carer, or if they choose not to participate in the sessions for any reason.
Our instructors are experienced and gentle in supporting children who may feel hesitant or nervous, and we encourage each child with patience and care throughout the learning process. There’s no rush—each child progresses at their own pace, and we’re committed to providing as many sessions as needed to have them riding confidently . Our top priority is to make sure that learning to ride is a positive and enjoyable experience for every child!
Practice afterwards is essential
Once your child has learnt to cycle it is essential that they are able to practise in the days and weeks immediately following the course.
For this you will need a suitable bike for them to ride. Most children’s bikes are poorly designed, very heavy and difficult to ride. Also, shops almost always sell bikes that are too big for the child to be able to ride safely.
The Pedal Promise does not apply if the child has successfully learnt with us but has not been able to practise afterwards and has subsequently lost the ability to cycle. However, if practice doesn't go well in the days immediately after your child has learnt, if you get in touch with us within a week of their last session, we are happy to offer extra sessions for no charge to bring their confidence back.
